Sue Thearle is a well known TV and Radio broadcaster who has worked for the BBC, ITV, Sky, Channel 5 and BT Sport.

She was the BBC Breakfast Sports Presenter for 13 years as well as spending 5 years as a News Presenter on the BBC News Channel. She is currently one of the main Football Reporters for ITV and Channel 5, as well as commentating on tennis for the WTA and ATP and golf for IMG.

As well as being the first female reporter on Match of the Day, Sue has presented shows for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio London and Capital Gold. She has interviewed some of the world’s greatest sportsmen and women including Serena Williams, David Beckham, Sir Steve Redgrave, Dame Kelly Holmes, Andy Murray, Billie-Jean King, Jordan Spieth, Maria Sharapova, Henrik Stenson and Thierry Henry. Her work for Premier League TV means she regularly interviews Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Slaven Bilic.

Sue is also a distinguished print journalist who has written for the Daily Telegraph and The Observer. She has also been the recipient of an award of distinction from the British Sports Journalism Awards.

Sue is now an Honorary Lady Taverner, in recognition of her support for The Lord’s Taverners.






Sue has a BA in Film, Television and Photographic Arts from Westminster University. She is an accomplished sportswoman who played for Millwall Lionesses. She is also a keen golfer and regularly plays in pro-celebrity charity golf days. In 2005, she ran the London Marathon in aid of Help the Hospices with the added pressure of being filmed throughout her training by BBC Breakfast. Sue is currently writing her first novel and when not broadcasting, enjoys skiing, watching films and spending time with her husband and two children.
